The Tobin buffer solution is a borate-based eyewash. This is suitable when space is a problem and/or eyewashes are required in a number of spots in the same area.
The borate buffer solution is able to maintain a steady pH even when a high pH base or low pH acid is added and has a neutralising effect on alkali and acidic chemicals
